Current Rates

All packages, with the exception of the “Express” packages, come with comprehensive support and multiple exchanges between author and editor.

Proofreading

(.005 per word, $75 for the first 10K)

• Spelling errors
• Grammatical errors
• Formatting issues
• Sentence structure

Copyediting

(.010 per word, $100 for the first 10K)

• Grammar, spelling, syntax, and punctuation
• Technical consistency in spelling, capitalization, font usage, numerals, hyphenation 
• Continuity errors and making sure all loose ends are tied
• Checking for factually incorrect statements (names, dates, timelines)
• Checking for inconsistency within the story–includes character description, plot points, and setting

Comprehensive Editing

(.025 per word, $150 for the first 10K)

• Includes all of the above
• Checking for potential liability issues
• Manuscript Critique: a comprehensive assessment on how to develop a stronger narrative, better pacing, and more engaging characters
• Line Edit – a thorough and intense line by line review of your work

Express Packages

Simple copyediting with a single run through and a focus solely on grammar, syntax, and continuity errors. Recommended for proficient authors. Not recommended for first drafts.
